We would like to introduce to you Alycia & Jason, an incredibly beautiful couple with two even cuter little girls.
This is their story…
We met at Fanshawe College… but not in a way you’d expect. Jason was hired as an accounting professor fresh off of his graduation and Alycia started in the accounting program that same year.
Jason was asked to help supervise an exam for another class which happened to be the one Alycia was in. The moment Alycia walked into the class and saw him it was ‘love at first sight’. That was the only time they saw each other until the following semester when fate
would have it that Alycia was in Jason’s class. No lines were crossed during the semester but as soon as final exams were over, they connected through mutual friends and have been inseparable ever since.
Alycia knew Jason was ‘the one’ the second she laid eyes on him. Because of Jason’s position as a teacher, he didn’t consider it an option but as soon as they hung out he felt the same way.
We got engaged on a trip to Chicago. After a nice dinner out and some drinks, Jason had planned to take a walk along the Magnificent Mile and propose on the bridge overlooking the Chicago River. Alycia insisted on taking a cab and not walking because her feet hurt… which ruined the whole plan. Jason proposed once we got back to our hotel which was equally as wonderful, although doesn’t make for the most exciting story.
Tell us about your vision for your Wedding Day…
We wanted a very natural, rustic theme that, although is very trendy right now, would also be timeless and elegant. We wanted it to feel very romantic and classic.
Looking back, what was your best decision?
Venue and florals – They both really set the tone for the day and are the best way to create the atmosphere we were hoping for.
We were thrilled with both and how the florals and décor worked to enhance the already beautiful venue setting.
What is your fondest memory on your wedding day?
There was so much excitement and build-up to the ceremony and getting to greet all our guests which was great, but when everyone sat down to dinner, just being in a room filled with everyone we love who were there to support us and celebrate with us was overwhelming.
Being married and surrounded by so much love was the best feeling in the world.
Were you surprised by anything on the big day?
This is going to sound funny – but we were so surprised by how amazing the service was. Our coordinator was by our side throughout the whole day making sure it was flawless. The bartender and service staff were unbelievable – always making sure we had what we needed before we even had to ask. We expected good service but this far exceeded anything we could have hoped for.
Why did you choose Bellamere? And what was your favourite feature of Bellamere?
We had been to celebrations there before and were impressed with the experience. We had an idea of what we wanted for our day and after touring a few venue options we knew that.
Bellamere was exactly what we were looking for. It has the perfect atmosphere and offered the classic, rustic theme we were looking for. Our favourite feature was the beautiful woodwork and fireplace in the Grand Hall – it created such a romantic atmosphere.
Is there anything you wished you had spent a little more time or money on?
No – we were thrilled with every aspect of the day. It was the perfect amount of extravagance to fit our budget!
What about less time or money?
While we knew what we wanted in a venue, Alycia wasn’t as decisive with her choice in wedding dresses and ended up buying two! Both were beautiful but the second was definitely the right choice for the day.
So we wish we spent less money on dresses… by only buying one.
(Advice for brides: Sleep on it!)
Now that some time has passed, would you change anything if you could?
No – it was literally a PERFECT day! We couldn’t have imagined it any differently and wouldn’t want to change a thing.
Do you have any advice for the couples out there who are considering Bellamere?
You won’t be disappointed if you choose Bellamere. I really can’t express how happy we were with our experience.
The customer service is unparalleled – they truly think of everything which took the stress off of us.
We were able to relax and enjoy our day knowing that our coordinator had everything under control. It was wonderful!!
